What this site is
Gold Value Chart US is a set of reference pages and calculators. Nobody can register, log in, comment or write to us from these pages, so the amount of personal information we hold is close to nothing, and none of it is sold.
The calculator
When you enter a karat and a weight, the sum is done by the script in your own browser. The numbers you type stay on your device. They are not sent to us, stored, or logged.
The green buttons and Augusta Precious Metals
Every button labelled CLAIM FREE GOLD IRA KIT opens a page run by Augusta Precious Metals where you can ask for its
free information kit. The link first passes through a short address on this site (/augusta or
/augusta-popup) and is then forwarded to Augusta with a tracking code in it (goldvaluechartus from
the pages, goldvaluechartuspopup from the popup). The code tells Augusta that a visitor came from this site, so we
can be credited. It does not carry anything about you. Once you are on Augusta's pages, its own privacy policy applies to
whatever you tell it. The advertising disclosure explains how we are paid.
Fonts
The two typefaces, Lora and Inter, are files stored on this site. Reading a page does not ask any font service for anything.
Hosting records
The site is delivered by Vercel. Like most hosts it keeps routine server records, such as IP address, requested page and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. Vercel's policy governs those records.
Price updates
Prices are baked into each page whenever the site is rebuilt from the data sources listed on the about page. In addition, a page you leave open may have your browser ask gold-api.com for a current spot quote roughly once a minute. That request contains only what any web request contains.
The exit popup
The popup appears at most once per visit. To remember that it has been shown, the browser keeps one marker for the current tab. It is removed when the tab is closed.
Analytics and cookies
We run no analytics today. If that changes, this page will say what is measured. Where the law requires consent for a cookie, we will ask before setting it.
Your rights
Residents of California, the EU and the UK can exercise legal rights over personal data. This site holds no accounts and no messages, so there is almost nothing for us to look up, correct or erase.
Children
The pages are written for adults and are not aimed at anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy is revised, the date at the top is updated.
